By the 1880s, Jacob had quit barbering and was making 12000 cases of award winning wines - mostly Riesling, Hock, Burgundy and Chasselas. Jacobs death in 1905 and prohibition resulted in a series of sales over the next 50+ years, until finally the property was bought by Jack and Jamie Davies in 1965.
